Autoresponder Courses
Email mini-courses are one of the absolute best ways to pull in sales and maintain contact with your visitors over the long-term.
Think about it... what is the first thing that most visitors do when they land on a website?
They leave!
Typical "bounce rates" (visitors who only stay on a website for a few seconds) are upward of 85%. If a visitor doesn't see exactly what they're looking for in the first few seconds of landing on your website, they'll be gone in a flash, never to return again.
This is where email mini-courses come into play.
It works like this...
1) You offer your visitor a free subscription to a multi-lesson online email course. (Or some sort of incentive such as a free bonus report, newsletter or entry into a draw)
2) The visitor "opts in" by giving their first name and email address.
3) You automatically send the visitor the email lessons and follow-up messages every couple of days using autoresponder software.
Instead of the visitor landing on your site and leaving forever, you've now been given permission to maintain contact with them for as long you want until they decide to unsubscribe from your emails. You can see the incredible power in that.
This will also help to build up your opt-in list so that you can present your visitors with further offers down the road. Most top Internet marketers will agree that "the money is in the list", and that building up a large opt-in list is the key to making a fortune online.
Setting Up Your Own Autoresponder Course
For the best results, I would recommend creating a small, 5-7 part "Email Mini-course". The mini-course can focus on either muscle-building or fat loss (or both) depending on which products you are promoting.
Here's how you should structure it...
1) Use 5-7 separate text articles as the lessons for your course. You can find a complete list of text articles by clicking here. Try to include a variety of different articles that focus on several different topics.
You can either paste the articles directly into the email messages, or you can send your subscribers a link to open the article in a new webpage window.
2) Setup your autoresponder software to send out a lesson once every 1-3 days.
3) Insert 1 or 2 follow-up messages in between each lesson. The follow-up messages should be used to:
a) Make sure that subscribers received previous lessons.
b) Remind subscribers of upcoming lessons.
c) Offer additional bonus items such as sample chapters, brandable PDF reports and video articles. (I would recommend offering at least 2-3 bonus items throughout your course.)
d) Promote the products and encourage subscribers to make a purchase.
Recommended Autoresponder Software
You'll also need some kind of autoresponder software in order to send out your emails and manage your subscribers. You can either use a 3rd party subscription-based service, or you can have a piece of AR software installed on your own server.
If you'd prefer a 3rd party setup, then I recommend either AWeber or GetResponse.
If you'd prefer a server-side setup, then I recommend Autoresponse Plus.
